The exhibition Handlingens Gang (As the Plot Unfolds) reveals the complex relationship between art as language and language as art. By focusing on different means of communication – through studying, creating, and recreating stories connected to materials, architectural structures, and objects – the exhibition aims to reflect on which elements actually form a narrative out of events.
The definitional power of language is clarified through political and poetic works where even the absence of words can still be about dialogue. The different works in the exhibition can be interpreted as everyday

The exhibition Handlingens Gang (As the Plot Unfolds) reveals the complex relationship between art as language and language as art. By focusing on different means of communication – through studying, creating, and recreating stories connected to materials, architectural structures, and objects – the exhibition aims to reflect on which elements actually form a narrative out of events.
The definitional power of language is clarified through political and poetic works where even the absence of words can still be about dialogue. The different works in the exhibition can be interpreted as everyday observations from one’s surroundings, while at the same time concerning themselves with the larger interpersonal discourse where universal ideas of authenticity, fiction, memory, presence, and rituals remain key.
In order to reflect trends in an-ever evolving art world, this year’s exhibition will for the first time include a performance element. The program will show new works of a temporary nature, including performances, readings, and talks.
